The
Proposed regulations implement the Madrid Protocol Implementation Act of
2002, Pub. Law 107-273, 116 Stat. 1758, 1918-1920 ()MPIA) signed on
11/02/02.
The MPIA
states that the Protocol will come into force on the later of 1
year after signature (11/02/03) or 3 months after deposit of the
ratification documents with WIPO.
The
current plan is to implement and begin processing on November 2, 2003 (a
Sunday).
